Clarendon County Development Board Honored at SEDC Annual Conference
Southern Economic Development Council Press Release ATLANTA, GA (September 3, 2010) Clarendon County Development Board, Manning, South Carolina, received five awards for their entries in the Southern Economic Development Council's annual Communications Awards. The awards were presented and the winning entried were on display at the Southern Economic Development Council's (SEDC) Annual Conference held August 14-17, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. The winning entries were an Award of Merit for the Special Purpose Brochure (Workforce), an Award of Merit for their Direct Mail Campaigns, an Award of Merit for Audiovisual, an Award of Excellance for their Web site, www.clarendoncountyusa.com, as well as an Award of Merit for their Web site, www.i95buildings.com. All entries were judged on graphic appeal, clarity and appropriateness of message, positioning and differentiation and content. "The competition was stiff this year with over 120 entries, as economic development organizations throughout our region submitted expertly prepared materials," said SEDC President Gene Stinson. "The entries submitted by the Clarendon County Development Board were outstanding and captured the attention of the judges to garner their awards." The Southern Economic Development Council is a 850 member professional association composed of a broad cross-section of active and influential economic developers from business and industry, utilities, transportation, financial and education institutions, chambers of commerce, and local, regional and state development agencies. Members in the 17-state area share a common interest: the promotion and enhancement of the economic development profession. The SEDC region includes the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland and the District of Columbia, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
